Number Ranges

Tuxtel has over 400,000 UK numbers allocated to its network. The numbers fall in to one of three categories:

• Geographic numbers, based on the location of the end user, beginning 01 or 02;
• Non-geographic numbers (NGNs) beginning with:
  • 03 - Charged like 01/02 prefixed numbers, but not tied to a geographic area
  • 0800 - Free to the caller, but incurs a per-minute cost to the called party
  • 0845 - Charged at BT's local rate
  • 0870 - Charged at BT's national rate*
  • 0844 - Charged at 5ppm at all times*
  • 0871 - Charged at 10ppm at all times*
• Premium Rate Numbers, beginning 09*

It should be remembered that operators other than BT (especially mobile operators) can charge siginificantly higher per minute charges for calls made to 08xx and 09xx prefixed numbers.
