Number Allocation

Some 400,000+ telephone numbers covering the majority of the UK have been allocated to Tuxtel by Ofcom thus far. Should the need arise from one of our customers for telephone numbers in an area not yet allocated to us, then a new application to Ofcom takes only a short amount of time to be approved - usually 2-3 weeks.

UK telephone numbers are a finite resource, and are allocated according to Ofcom rules and regulations. In line with Ofcom guidelines, telephone numbers are assigned from our ranges only when the customer has a valid and immediate need for the numbers.

Where customer-allocated numbers pass less than 5 minutes of traffic per month, an inactivity charge of £5 per number per month is raised against the number. Numbers remaining dormant for more than six months will be deactivated and withdrawn from service.
