Number porting is the process of moving the responsibility for the management and the routing of a phone number from one carrier (e.g. BT) to another. If you have an existing non-geographic number (e.g. 0870 or 0845) provided by another telco, you can now transfer your number(s) to our service and benefit from lower charges and/or increased revenue share payments.
When implementing a Tuxtel solution, existing non-geographic phone numbers can be retained, therefore removing the cost and inconvenience of re-advertising new numbers. Tuxtel relies on established relationships with BT and other major carriers to ensure a smooth transition when porting existing numbers over to the Tuxtel network. Tuxtel can port from most area codes in the UK, as well as a number of non-geographic codes, allowing customers to keep their existing number on migrating service.
Porting number(s) is a very simple procedure designed to cause little or no interruption to service.
