Call Routing

With a network based on the latest carrier-grade technology and interconnection agreements with the major UK telcos, Tuxtel is able to seamlessly pass traffic to and from the major UK networks, as well as to and from the outside world.

Telephone companies pass traffic between each other predominantly using SS7 (Signalling System #7), which is a well established collection of telecoms protocols used to describe how telephone traffic is moved between networks. Tuxtel transforms SS7 traffic from other carriers in to the more familiar ISDN or VoIP, and then sends it on its way to its intended destination.

As technology advances and bandwidth becomes more readily available, telephone traffic will no doubt be passed from point to point wholly as VoIP traffic, instead of a mixture of Analogue, ISDN, and VoIP - as is the case now.

At the moment, customers have a combination of Analogue, ISDN and broadband connections in to their offices/homes, all of which will eventually be replaced by one fibre-based data circuit which will be used to carry data, telephone traffic and other types of content.
