Email to Fax

Being able to send faxes directly via e-mail not only saves time, but also removes the need to print out electronic documents first before manually feeding them through a fax machine.

The Tuxtel e-mail to fax gateway renders the content of any e-mail in to FAX format, and then transmits to the required number as a FAX document. To send a fax via e-mail, ensure that the email address follows the format:

<fax number>@faxoff.co.uk

So, to fax us here at Tuxtel for example, simply send an e-mail to the following address:

08454995000@faxoff.co.uk

If the e-mail contains only text without any attachments, the raw text content of the e-mail will be FAX'ed.

If the e-mail contains an attachment in DOC, TIFF or PDF format, the document will be rendered in to a FAXable format and sent to the recipient. Should it not be possible to render the attached document, or if some other error occurs, an error message will be sent back to the recipient by email inviting them to reconsider the format used and try again. Unsuccessful renderings are not charged for.

Faxes sent by registered users of the service will be billed to the account Tuxtel has on file for the originator's e-mail address. Should a fax be received from an unregistered e-mail address, an e-mail will be sent to the sender explaining that transmission was not possible because an account was not in place for the e-mail address being sent from.
