Outbound prospecting refers to the automatic dialling of telephone numbers stored in a database. The outbound prospecting computer will step through numbers stored in a database and attempt to connect to a human being, or fax machine. Outbound prospecting is useful where call centre resources are limited and/or a large number of calls need to be made. Much time is also saved by ensuring that operators are only connected when the call has actually been answered by a human.
Outbound prospecting is useful for connecting to customers for tele-marketing purposes, where calls are made from a database of targetted numbers. Care must be taken to follow the guidelines laid down by the telephone preference service, and Tuxtel insists that call databases for marketing purposes are screened with the TPS database prior to going live.
